For them to see You

Ephesians 5:15

‘Be very careful on how you live, not as unwise, but making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil, but understand what the Lords will is.’

Today is one of those evil days. Some days it seems I really have it all together, the perfect friends, my to-do list is clear, the right outfit, and on the perfect path feeling good about the path I chose. And then there’s not so perfect days, usually on Mondays, but it seems that nothing is going together, you’re late to class or work, you spill the coffee, you forget your books or keys, nothing seems to be coming together. THIS WAS MY DAY.

Some days it’s just hard to be an example of Christ, you feel like you’re failing. I certainly feel like some days God is looking down with some disappointment. I always long for others to see Jesus, in some way, somehow that they will feel His love that surrounds us daily. I long for others to walk so closely to Our Lord, so when people choose a different path, I feel like I’m failing God, but this is Satan trying to come in between our close walk. God is never disappointed in our attempt to be an example. He sees our perseverance.

One thing I have to remind myself of is that we are not responsible for anyone else’s walk with Christ. That is God’s will working in their life. All we can do, and all we’re called to do is set an example of Christ; that someone some day will see Christ through us and will desire for a love and a relationship with Christ.

1 timothy 4:12

‘Set an example for other believers in speech, life, in love, in faith, and in purity.

Matthew 5:16

‘Let your light shine before men, so that they may see the good and give the praises to the Lord.’

Ephesians 5:1-2

‘Be imitators of God and live a life of love like Christ.’
